The EMS-129 is an update to the ever-popular EMS-122w fullrange loudspeaker, a compact, powerful fullrange loudspeaker intended for a wide variety of applications – both mobile and permanently installed.
- Wide dispersion variant in same footprint as narrow dispersion variant
- Rotatable 90° x 60° constant directivity waveguide
- Premium 15mm multi-laminate birch plywood enclosure
- Black or white textured paint finish
- Optional weather protection or RAL custom colours
- Multiple threaded rigging points compatible with OmniMount and Powerdrive brackets
- Pole mount socket
- Hex punched steel grille backed with acoustically transparent black fabric
Whilst the internal components have been updated, the EMS-129 is physically identical to the original EMS-122w and is fully compatible with the same flying hardware. EMS-115, 215 or 118 subwoofers can be added to extend system response where required. The EMS-129 is completely passive yet outperforms many bi-amplified or processed designs.
Updated with new components and cabinet structure, the enclosure contains a 12” (305mm) neodymium LF drive unit, linked via the internal passive crossover network to a 3” (76mm) diaphragm, 1.4” (36mm) exit HF compression drive unit. The HF drive unit is coupled to a constant-directivity waveguide which produces a 90° x 60° dispersion pattern 90° x 60°, rotatable for maximum flexibility, and along with the multi-angle enclosure this allows stage monitor use if required.
The robust enclosure is constructed from premium multi-laminate Birch plywood and is finished in impact resistant textured paint. Two NL4 connections are provided on the rear for input and enclosure link. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rigid steel grille backed with acoustically transparent fabric. A flush bar handle, 35mm polemount socket and various threaded fixings are provided in the enclosure for optional rigging hardware. RAL colour matching and weather protection options are also available if required.
The EMS-129 requires a single amplifier channel, and should be used with professional power amplifiers capable of delivering 750-1000W RMS into an 8-ohm load. For optimum results, the EM Acoustics DQ10 or DQ20 Advanced System Amplifiers, or the AQ Series power amplifiers in conjunction with the DSC48 system controller (for loudspeaker protection) should be used.
